Working Conditions

Personnel Requirements

 

Drivers & Swampers/Laborers

In accordance with the Federal Hours of Service, drivers and swampers generally work 16-hour periods with sufficient rest time in between shifts. No more than 13 hours can be driving time.

Mechanics/Shop Personnel

Mechanical personnel generally work 8-hour shifts.  Shift requirements may vary depending on overall work load.

Admin/Accounting Staff

Administrative staff generally work 8-hour periods.  No shift work is required for these job roles.

Management/Supervisor

Management and supervisory roles are salaried positions that operate on flexible work schedules.  Depending on role, some manager and supervisor functions require 24/7 on-call readiness.

Rainbow Lake, AB

The Rainbow Lake branch operates its own modern, camp facilitity and houses their employees in this accommodation. When applying to the RL branch, the applicant can request further information regarding the features and benefits of the facilities.

 

Job Prerequisites

 

Experience

For most job postings, candidate experience is desired and will be given preference.  In many cases, the company will provide training as needed.

Certification

For operational roles (see Job Role link), workers must possess active certificates for H2S Alive and Level 1 First Aid.

Licenses

All drivers must posses the appropriate license class for the type of vehicle to be operated. All drivers (except Admin personnel) must also supply a current driving abstract.

Personal Protective Equipment

For operational roles (see Job Role link), workers must provide a hard hat and CSA approved work boots.

Wages & Benefits

 

Wage Ranges

Wage compensation is based on experience and other factors. Common ranges include:

Drivers:  $25-$35/hour

Swamper/Laborer:  $18-$25/hour

Mechanic:  $25-40/hour

Parts Person:  $18-$22/hour

Management:  salaried compensation depending on role

Troyer Ventures offers a sliding scale benefit package based on duration of employment with the company (3-12-48 month). Benefits include:
